NotBlonde
This evening (Thursday 18th) I want to send an Italian meal to someone who lives in south west Sheffield - near Abbeydale Road South to be precise. Unfortunately I live a few hundred miles away and I'm struggling. I've tried Google and whilst Indian, Chinese or a pizza would be no problem I would really really like to find proper/nice Italian food. Money is no object (what price romance eh?). I know La Scala and Marco at Milano are both nearby, but neither do a takeaway service. Can anyone suggest somewhere that might? Even if they don't do delivery I could perhaps send a cab round to collect it and deliver it. Or does anybody know their local friendly Italian restaurant who could be persuaded to do it as a one off, if their palms were suitably greased? Thanks in advance. theripsaw
The Pasta Bar on Sharrowvale Road do take-away (but not delivery). I cant recommend the pasta as a take-away (its a bit stodgy by the time you get it home) but they do other stuff as well i think.
NotBlonde
Thanks for the suggestion. Take away but not delivery isn't ideal, unless someone can recommend a cab firm that will take credit cards over the phone? Sorry I know I am asking a lot - just think how happy you're making the recipient of said meal though!
kittenta
Such a shame you can't jump in a taxi and deliver it yourself .
NotBlonde
Yeah, no kidding! With 7 hours of driving I could. And before you call me unromantic, I did do those 7 hours yesterday too!!!!
kittenta
You need to move closer but how sweet! I hope you manage it, good luck Wouldn't it be quicker on a train???

NotBlonde
Yes that could work and I'll ask them if nothing better comes to light. I could ask her to pay the cab driver herself when he turns up but that would rather take the shine off, wouldn't it?! Besides, she might not have any cash in the house. Arghhhh. rachett
Try Sette Colli on Bradfield Road, Hillsborough they take out and City Taxi's are great at picking things up and delivering them
NotBlonde
Have tried several taxi firms now (including City Taxis) and none are willing to collect the food from the restaurant, regardless of financial inducement. Evidently the current economic climate isn't impacting too badly on cabs in Sheffield!
