Fareast Posted December 20, 2008 Share Posted December 20, 2008 Yes, I remember going in a few times with my mother----after shopping and before catching the 32 bus at Pond St. for home. This must have been about 1944-1947 or thereabouts. It wasn 't exactly Claridges ! Rather more like a school dining hall, ditto the food. However, food wasn 't so plentiful at that time, to say the least, so it was regarded, not really a treat, but at least a change from eating rationed grub at home.
