diddy
Hello - I'm interested in whether anyone remembers the Excelsior pub at Attercliffe. I think it was knocked down in about 1993. My nanan and grandad owned it in the 60's. They were Frank and Norah O'Brien and their daughter (my mum) is Margaret O'Brien. It would be nice to hear any memories or stories about the place. It's a shame that its only legacy is an eerie outline on the wall of the building to which it was formerly attached (at the grassed area behind the two white steel hoardings opposite the Meadowhall Retail Park). Anything, no matter how apparently insignificant it may seem) would be welcome. Thanks very much guys......

happyhippy
Here's one picture of it. If I remember correctly, it got the local CAMRA "Pub Of The Month" award in the month it was demolished. The same as "The Commercial" did.
