chinaski
With that cash try Fischers in Baslow http://www.fischers-baslowhall.co.uk/dining-c16.html or Tessa Bramleys The old Vicerage in Ridgeway http://www.theoldvicarage.co.uk/menu.html They're both Michelin starred and well renowned. And don't expect to see any change. If you're feeling adventurous then go to Anthony's in Leeds. He worked at El Bulli which is voted the best restaurant in the world by foodies. I've been a few times now (last time I was sat next to Carol Vorderman - though don't let that put you off) and the food is very high end and entertaining. He was voted chef of the year a couple of years back. http://www.anthonysrestaurant.co.uk/restaurant/
chinaski
Artisan is good apparently. Artisan does great food. Others will recommend Marco at Milano's. But if you want that little bit extra, I'd still plump for one of the other suggestions.

Rich
Go to the robin hood inn on myers grove lane, stannington, s6. Heared some very good things... and carl ex artisan is there There's only 1 thing wrong with the food at the Robin Hood, they don't do Scampi and chips, otherwise they'd be 10/10. medicgirl
Artisan is lovely, but for somewhere slightly more special/private with just as good food, I recommend the Milestone at Kelham Island (upstairs). http://www.the-milestone.co.uk
