F.I.S.T. Parts filmed in Sheffield

Recommended Posts

The film F.I.S.T. (1978) which starred Sly Stallone had parts filmed in Sheffield. The film was I think meant to be be in Pittsburg Pa. But some parts were filmed in Sheffield.

Does anybody know anything about where in Sheffield parts were flimed?

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

I have now sourced a copy (original before I get shouted at!!!)

It is the opening title sequences only, it features:

Hecla Works - Where Murpheys yard is(?)

Orgreve Coke Plant

Blast Lane - looking from bridge up to the old gas tanks

Norfolk bridge - or the view of the weir on the Don at that point (wallace Rd).

It doesn't shout Sheffield at you, but after watching it's obvious to me its Sheffield!!!

Mind you Sheffield in the late 70's was used to portray Pittsburg (USA) in the 1930's!!

Dang - we must have had more than our share of Dark Satanic Mills!!!!

Just on a tangent Slade (Noddy Holder at al) made a film in the 1970's and they used the Kelvin Flats in it!!!

To think we are grimmer than the Brumsters don't bear thinking about!!!!!
