Video clips of Sheffield anybody?

The Yorkshire Film Archive have got a great variety of Sheffield clips; although it's expensive to go and view them, they do occasional showings. They did one at the Showroom a few months ago and the guy who presented it was excellent, as were the clips.

 

http://www.britishpathe.com is a fantastic resource too, with quite a lot of Sheffield. You can download low-res free of charge; most of the footage is 1920s-1960s.

Thanks for the compliment. The Yorskhire Film Archive is putting on two more film shows at the Sheffield Showroom on Wednesday 25th March at 2 pm and 6 pm. These are free. There is no cost in coming into the YFA to view films, although you need to ring up in advance. Some of our old films from Sheffield will be going free online in 2010.
