jazzamatazz
Saturday 17th January The band that has had an unquestionable part in the history of Punk and as such became the godfathers of the Street Punk scene. The greatest assets of SHAM 69 has been its songs and the fact that the songs have always dominated the scene above and beyond. This current line up featuring Dave Parsons who was the main songwritier along with SHAM 69’s longest serving Drummer Ian Whitewood have proved to be the sincerest yet. The band now fronted by Tim V a Cockney Geezer who hails from the Eastend of London has been touring 3/4’s of the world in order to bring its power to the fans young and old. So as the band marchs on you to can be a part of this incredible adventure. eastbank
sham 69..first saw them at doncaster outlook club 1978 when they gave away a free single what have we got, followed them all over and became an unpaid roadie, pity jimmy couldn't be bothered with touring so you cannot blame parsons for getting a new singer. they feature strongly in a new book about the punk scene in south yorkshire titled our generation by tony beesley, the book is being published by juma books and looks the business, should be out by this summer or earlier if possible. should be a good night out, having a bit of a 70s re-union with the boys from yester year but having a problem getting into my old crombie..happy days
