astraman
This is just from one of those pub discussions about what things used to be. There is a mosque just off Staniforth Rd, by the junction with Woodburn Rd just where the tram crosses. It is on the right as you head down towards Attercliffe. The road it is on used to cut back off Staniforth Rd, but I believe that bit is now closed. What was the building used for before it was a mosque? I seem to recall that it was a Christian church. Someone else reckons it was a club, but can't remember the name. Any help at all would be appreciated.
carsupplier
Have a look at this youtube link astraman, it's from SF member detrius, it mentions that the mosque was a church. There is still the remains of the 'Rads' club behind it. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-PEtGf2kUu8&feature=channel

RoseHadi
I lived in that area during the 50/60's and can confirm that in those days it was a church, I think it was called Roundel Street Church, I used to attend Sunday School there. This is a long time of course and during the last years it may have been used for something else.
devlin
Yes, It was Roundel Street Christian Church, the little club which is/was also on Roundel Street is now a very derelict building !
