livestrong
One should note when photographers state they are giving full copyrights away they generally do not have an understanding of copyright laws. Many don't understand the difference between copyright and print rights. PRINT RIGHTS or a PRINT LICENSE is what is important to be asking about or looking for from a wedding photographer if you want to make prints yourself. When hiring a wedding photographer it is important when signing your contract (any wedding photographer worth their salt should have one) that the photographer understands what is and isn't copyright and the contract is worded correctly. Otherwise their could well come a point down the track where a "poorly worded" contract can cause problems for both parties. Also to the best of my knowledge "joint ownership" of copyright does not exist per say in the UK for wedding photographs (same as the US I believe). Classic Rock
Thread closed. The Wedding Group wants to move away from excessive advertising and I'm afraid this is one of the largest threads full of adverts. There is now a sticky inviting couples to recommend good service, we shall hopefully see some great quality photographers mentioned in there in the weeks ahead.
