BasilRathbon
The media is to blame for a lot of the UK's recession. They stir trouble up and frighten people into not spending their money, especially the BBC. Absolutely. The problem is that we now have a media so obsessed with making a mountain out of a molehill that it's dire and exagerrated predictions that make the headlines. A newspaper headline stating something like "ECONOMIC CYCLE CARRIES ON AS NORMAL" or "RECESSION - GOING EXACTLY AS EXPERTS EXPECTED" may not sell copies but would be far more accurate than some of the silly scare stories we're getting at present. steel117
Normal people need to avoid panic and sort out their own finances. But we still need to keep going out for meals, buying cars etc because if we don't then things will just get worse. Ignore the media hype but just be sensible.
