Horribleblob,

Thank you for that. Believe it or not, my mother took me to see Muddy Waters at the Manchester Free Trade Hall- I must have been about 12 yrs old ! I'm still playing his music 55 yrs later. You made my day. Such class and style puts our "modern hipsters" to shame.

Great dancing by the black guys. I have been known and seen to do the same in the Twisted Wheel, Manchester, when I was a teenager (early teens ).

Anybody who was anybody in jazz, blues and gospel sang and played at the Newport Festival in 58. Luis Armstrong and Jack Teagarden play and sing a very touching duet.

Gerry Mulligan is all over the baritone sax. The young people dancing -what more can one say.

Thanks once again for Muddy Waters.

I'll now get on mastering my newly acquired valve trombone from my "Old Rocking Chair ".

Sibon,

Two inspiring clips -thanks. His rendition of , "The Times They Are A Changing" is food for the soul.

I think you would like the music of , " Big Chief". They've been going a long time and I played trumpet a couple of times with the band. I worked with John Fry-the singer and tenor sax player. We were both allegedly teachers at Southgate College. The band's CDs are available. But sadly, I cannot find a Youtube clip of the band . Sometimes they would feature Art Theman on Tenor sax.

Horribleblob.

Pete King and Art Theman take the Alto and Tenor sax to a level beyond description. Don Weller often featured at the Bulls Head in Barnes . I was at the gig in the link.

It's a pity that we cannot get these guys to do a concert in Sheffield. Hope you like it.

And here's Art Theman:

And Don Weller;
