Smithster
Do you feel the same about Christmas and Santa too? Not quite sure what you mean. I stopped believing in Santa when I was about 9 years old. I do celebrate christmas but not as a christian festival. My point is this: why should the whole of England celebrate the life of somebody who never even visited this country?

SheffBloke
And did those feet in ancient time Walk upon England's mountains green? And was the holy Lamb of God On England's pleasant pastures seen? And did the Countenance Divine Shine forth upon our clouded hills? And was Jerusalem builded here Among these dark satanic mills? Bring me my bow of burning gold! Bring me my arrows of desire! Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold! Bring me my chariot of fire! I will not cease from mental fight, Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand, Till we have built Jerusalem In England's green and pleasant land. Happy St Georges Day everyone
just_words
From what i've been reading he (St. G) seemed like a nice and principled old chap, also i'm surprised by how many countries and cities have him as their patron saint. I'm not religious but most saints i've got to give a lot of credit too because of their actions. Also i'm proud to be English and if we represent St. G as our patriotism, i'm also glad to celebrate it with everyone! Have a good day!
