Late night coffee bars?

I know there's old threads on this but I thought we need an up-to-date one...

Where are the late night coffee bars in Sheffield centre? Or even Ecclesall Road? For people who don't want to go dancing, or anywhere with loud music, who just want to chat... is such a thing possible? Forget Melbourne, New York, Sheffield is lagging behind London in this respect!!

And by late I mean after midnight!

I agree fella, I know a lot of people who's body clock goes until 5-6am and would love somewhere to hang out late doors on a night off, Sheffield has a somewhat limited leisure trade considering the size of the city... I think the main thing holding sheffield back is ridiculous property rental prices in the city centre, this has stopped independent traders trying to do something like this...

If the commercial property in town takes a similar percentage drop in rent as the housing market takes in value, the city would benefit hugely in my opinion...

As for your comment Vanos, sitting in the house on the internet is not my idea of living, as Bill Hicks would say eventually everyone will be locked in their houses havin pizzas shot through their letter boxes... get out there, support local business, myspace friends aren't real friends...

It is mine at 4 am when I can't sleep. I'l browse the news, things of interest or even converse with people. Meeting new folk in a shop at 4am is a little odd unless you are off your nut.

PS you posting on here means you are half accepting of the solution.

Erm, no, I'm not, you posting that is like someone writing a thread saying "what's a nice restaurant?" and you replying "I like a pot noodle and BBC iPlayer", it's neither informative or the right attitude, I wouldn't go to a late night coffee shop to meet people, I'd go there with people I already know, so I'm afraid my friend it is you who are a little off your nut

I doubt the op was meaning doing that. You'd go to one of your own gaffs. As for being off my nut - correct, I live in the real world.

Okie dokie, you definitely had the last word there boss, maybe you and your real world should stay off of the 'Going out in Sheffield' section and stay in the 'Sitting in my house playing with my bebo' section... I'm sure you'll learn everything you need in life from wiki

Ok guys so you can sit in and have coffee but I think there is a point to be made that sometimes after a few drinks you are not always ready to go home, a late night coffee house would be ideal, to sit and have a chat before everyone going home, there was a place nr to john lewis but that has closed now, and that was always good for that type of thing, you could come out of a pub or club, sit and have a bite to eat and a drink before heading home.

That's right yes. :hihi:

We'd usually go to a casino or a chilled club, they do serve coffee too - but if you are unimaginative then you will have a problem finding somewhere. :o
