daftlad
was working in a pub in the city centre on the saturday night one and a scotish couple came in they had been to this concert. They had tickets for the following day but no accomodation. I got to know them for a bit and asked them if they wanted to kip on our sofa. I told them I live a 10 minute walk from the stadium. They stayed overnight and were very good company and the following week a cheque arrived in the post for £50 saying thanks for the digs overnight and the breakfast in the morning. deadheadfred
There were no supporting acts for the European leg of the tour, as I recall. cal1943
Hi, I was walking my dogs in Woodhouse, and could hear the concert clearly. It must have been great to have been there.
Davekowl
Did'nt go to the concert but sat on the grass on Skye Edge bank (overlooking the city) and heard every song as clear as if I had been there. There must have been over 100 of us singing along.

Littlepink
I lived on Charlotte road at the time as a teenager so I didn't see the concert but heard everything as I laid on my bed . The crowd obviously enjoyed it because the applause was deafening. It took hours for the crowd to disperse after , compared to a football match that cleared in half an hour . The atmosphere around the ground was amazing , even the police were smiling

Yes the wind must have been blowing in our direction. I remember being able to sing along with Brucie in Handsworth.
