Ginger53
As you lot appear to have an interest in amateur drama, you might be interested in seeing a few of the groups that are involved in this years One Act Play Festival. The festival was designed to celebrate the best in local talent and has been running at the Library Theatre for over 20 years. This year’s event runs from Wednesday 24th - Saturday 26th June at the Library Theatre and features groups from Sheffield, Dronfield and Buxton. Its a good opportunity to see new and unusual material, comedy, tragedy and farce so if you want to check out the contenders for this years awards, the programme is as follows: Thursday 24th June- Slot 1: Gosforth Youth Theatre, "The Argos Catalogue" by Rod Duncan Slot 2: 53 Theatre Group, "The Game" by Louise Bryant Slot 3: Dronfield Players, "Can You Hear The Music?" by David Campton Friday 25th June- Slot 1: Old GYTs, "One was Nude, The Other Wore Tails" by Dario Fo Slot 2: Ecclesall Theatre Company, "Fumed Oak" by Noel Coward Slot 3: Strolling Players, "Blood Pressure" by John Harrold Saturday- Slot 1: Tudor Players, "Swan Song" by Vanessa Brooks Slot 2: Buxton Young Farmers, "Close Relations" By Peter Slack Slot 3: Awards Presentations Tickets £7.00 (£6.00 Conc) and are available by calling 0114 2368378 / 07719 847 113 Special discounts are available for multiple ticket purchases. If you need further info drop me a line By the way, if anyone is looking for a group to join, you could do a lot worse than the 53 Theatre Group. We rehearse in Shalesmoor at the Lion Works which is just around the corner from the tram stop.
