topbabe
Can anyone tell me when cowley view stores, Chapeltown, closed and when it was demolished please ...? (Near cowley view road & Chapeltown road, I think ) Are there any council documents that may help me find this information or even tell me about any owners of the shop? ( Im thinking of a business directory) Im trying to locate any member of the Holden Family and trace their history.(Peter, Simon ,Anne Kay & possibly Johnathon(Charles). They used to live in the Shop and some of them attended Ecclesfield school in the 70's. I appreciate some people are private and may not want to be contacted , so i will respect this if necessary.I only really want to ask a couple of questions which is too private to post.A private message would be good. ANY help appreciated. To those on the forum who have helped me get this far THANKYOU........ TB
Nigel Womersle
Hello. I am sure the building is still there. I am going over Chapeltown in about 15 minutes, so I will have a look (I pass it) and let you know.

supersonic
When I was at Ecclesfield Comp in the early 90s it was known as "Hodgitt's" by everyone, though I cannot remember the name on its front. The Salls took over (they have another store in Chapeltown/Burncross), now is as above.
