jemson
Anyone been in this pub? Any good for food or ale? Saw it as I was on a long run and wondered if it was worth a try some time.
Bertielil
The menu has just been revamped, all good, proper chips, not the godawful type you get in some pubs, a very good range, from sandwiches on thick cut bread to excellent steaks. The Sunday Carvery is brill with a choice of 4 meats sourced locally. You may want to book, we've been 3 times since Christmas for Sunday Lunch and it has always been very well supported. Hope this helps.
Andy C
A reasonable community pub, not tried the food but sounds OK. Normally one real ale from Greene King, however on my last visit it wasn't available. Pub does what it does well, and there are three distinct areas, a dining area, an area with comfy settees next to a big TV and an area with normal pub furniture, pool table, darts board etc.

eckingtonboy
The people who run this now used to run the cocked hat before they gave it up (after a short period), they didnt serve real ale very often due to some excuse with the pumps not working. i wonder if they are using the same excuse at this pub? tch123
No we dont use the same excuse! We only have 1 hand pump that works fine. We dont sell that much so only get one 9 gall a week to ensure we dont have any wasteage and the quality is good. Eckingtonbot, I am sure you been a expert on running pubs you will already know but we only get one delivery a week.!
