I worked at Surmanco circa 1975. I looked after the Finishing Dept. for about 1 year.

I remember Jean Mitchell well , a good looking brunette lady, who ran one of the other depts.

I took on Dale Kemp,who wanted a transfer to Finishing, who had worked for Jean .Turned out I had known him from my days working for Firth Derihon, Tinsley ,when Dale was a little scamp around 6 years old.I do hope Dale turned out OK over the years. I do now remember Donald who worked in the Finishing Dept.

Surmanco was a well run company under the direction of Mr.Berry snr. , General Manager, assisted by his son, John, Production Manager.

 

Wonder where these people are today ? Any one any answers.

hiya, your mum couldn,t be margaret could she ,i remember her at about 1953/6 when i worked there in the fool room ( sorry meant the tool room)

ps say hello to your mum from jean and me.
