donvalley Posted March 16, 2009 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Anyone remember families by the names of Senior (Lois in particular), Holt, Johnson or Astall? They would have all had something to do with fish at one time! My greatgrandmother, Florence Humphries (nee Bingham Holt) had a fish shop around Bodmin Road area very definitely in the 40s/50s. There was a story that she left her husband and young daughter for several years to take up with the Mooney Gang! Apparently she turned up on my greatgrandfathers door step one day and begged to be taken back when my grandmother, Dolly Humphries (married name Brown) was a teenager! Also my grandfather Harry Brown ran the Tramway Pub in abbeydale during the 50s if anyone ever ventured that way they may remember him.......
