Memories of shopping in seventies Sheffield

Recommended Posts

Which shops could you get to either on road level or from the hole in the road? Was one of them C&A ?

Didn't you used to be able to get into Rackhams from there too?

Heading down from there, before you got to Thorntons, I think there was a flower shop, and a cheap wallpaper shop.

I used to love the Hole in the road. The buskers, the shops, the odd policeman now and again, the toilets open late, the tramps, the fishes, and keeping to the edges when it was raining.
