sweetie
Hi where can I buy good quality, reasonably priced grass turf to create a lawn? Thanks
gluedtopc
This thread’s a bit old. Any up-to date recommendations? I’m not really after the cheapest, just good quality. Thanks.
charliewag
I've turfed my back garden today. I ordered it from A1 turf supplies on Attercliffe and had it delivered yesterday. Quality turf at a reasonable price.
gluedtopc
Thanks for that. I’ll give them a call. I’m thinking about putting some weed inhibitor fabric under the new lawn area. What are your thoughts on that?
charliewag
I think a weed inhibitor fabric would prevent the grass roots from bedding into the soil. I just rotavated the area, removing any sizeable stones, weeds and other debris. I then raked it level before laying the turf.
gluedtopc
Sorry, what I meant to say was I might put it under 3-4 inches of soil with the turf on top.
Steptoad
Does anybody know if A1 Turf Supplies are still in business? Tried to phone them using the number on their website, but a recorded message told me that the number had change, but there was no answer on the 'new' number. Anybody got any clues.
