My brother emigrated to Australia in the early 50's and after staying in the notorious Bathurst Camp near Sydney he moved out. He got a job re-building a new loco that had been made in the UK and shipped out in pieces to the State of Victoria Railways. Unfortunately the only thing I know it was re-assembled in the mid 50's and was a 'Centenary Celebration Loco'. It must have made a stir in Australia in those days. I have found that the last british Steam locos were sent over in 1951, they were made in Glasgow and were North British type, these were similar to our 'Windies'.
