Anyone here from Attercliffe? (Part 2)

Recommended Posts

Hi Frippa

Yes we played together. I'm Julie Haywood. I spent lots of time at your house in those days, and I must say, your mum and dad made me very welcome. I remember you black dog too. I remember going to the track with you on lots of occasions.

Hi Frippa

Brings back memories to hear people talk about 4 wheels and running round the lump.

I remember playing cricket across the road outside your house, with the stumps chalked on the cutlers yard wall.

Hi Ennis 37 rather an unusual name I wasnt born in attercliffe but worked for the brightside and carbrook co-op at kirkbridge road and was born on the manor in 1938

Hi Joan1, no one seems to remember the Central and we all had sucha good time bopping to the live groups. Screaming Lord Such, Dean Marshall and his deputies, a guy called Jonnie White would sing and many others. They were great times if it was open until twelve you were safe to walk home, unlike today.

I recently met up with an old friend and we had a laugh talking about the fun we had. We never bothered about the pubs , although our boyfriends at the time did.

I lived near Alfred Rd and married a lad from the same area, let me know which end of Newhall Rd you lived, we just might no one another.

Keep in touch LG..............

Hi bossyboots

I was born in 1944 and from the age of about 10 I used to go to the skating rink skating in the mugs alley. I never knew it as anything else.
