brian1941
Can anyone help me please? I have a difference of opinion with a friend. He insists there were two cinemas in Firth Park. I say there was only one - the lovely Paragon. Which of us is right please? Thank you. ---------------- Hi Nigel, I remember the good old Paragon at firth park used it lots of times, the next Cinama i remember was a little down lane top just higher up from Huntsman Pub. The other one was Sunbeam in Fir Vale but having said all that i only remember the Paragon. Can you remember the chip shop across rd it was also called Paragon its still their loverly fish. brian1941
That's exactly right lads... The Paragon was at Firth Park, The Esseldo (or Essoldo?) was at Lane Top and the Sunbeam was at Fir Vale... The Sunbeam was the first to close down and then the Paragon, the Esseldo carried on for a number of years though, I think into the early seventies... The Paragon chip shop across the road from the old Paragon Picture Palace carried on for years and years, which wasn't surprising, their fish an chips were magnificient... Maybe it's still there now? I don't know? -------------- The chip shop is still there not sure about the name, i'll ask my sister she lives in Bellhouse Rd.
