Earwiggo
The £4m increase in the budget that's been talked about - is this regardless of how many season tickets are sold, or based on the talked about 16k target? In other words, if you only get say 10k ST holders, does the budget drop significantly, and likewise if you get 20k, is it to increase to £5m? Just seems odd to be seeing that figure quoted, regardless of the club's income... and perhaps not a wise move, as other clubs may think Wednesday have got more money to spend, and hold out for a better price (if the target is under contract)? Strafford has promised that the extra £4m we are getting from Tv etc, will only be spent on improving the squad, and (the worrying thing) on other 'on the field' activities. scottf
i thought he said laws would only get 4 million on the condition that you reach 16,500 season tickets?

'on the field' activities? sounds mysterious! TAT
The few owls i talk with, are open to the fact the ground is a dump and needs a serious upgrade. Even the most loyal of owls must admit the stadium is now a below par championship ground, with only its capacity a plus. So maybe some funds shound be saved for a lick of paint. I've had my season ticket in the South Stand for a while. When I first went I sat on the North, but was too young to remember what it was like, so presumed it wasn't great from being told about it. I renewed by season ticket last week, but moved to Kop, went round Kop, which is good but facilities wise is lacking, also went around the North, I was surprised, its actually quite good, great view and the facilities are decent enough. Leppings lane on the other hand, needs pulling down. South Stand is top notch, no one can say owt bad about it.

Cherry Street and John Street are facilities wise better than our North (the North is a a beautiful piece of engineering). Both Kops are pretty poor in terms of facilities and posts blocking views. But our South is better than any stand at the lane.
NERVY-OWL
the south stand has had the most money spent so is bound to be better than any of the others. tbh i never use the facilities when i go to a game so not sure where is best but the west certainly needs knocking down. the south stand beats anything most of the other clubs in this league have to offer, utd wont match it till they build their new kop:thumbsup:

The stand that you refer to as "out of this world" is nothing more than a smaller version (more than 4,000 seats smaller in fact) of our South Stand even down to the miniature copy of the finial. What's superior about your stand, does it have reclining seats so that you can keep track of the ball as it's hoofed into the air?
