Ged303
The Future’s Bright. The Future’s Funk Back in 2005, a certain club night settled itself into The Earl on Queens Rd and made itself at home for a series of monthly parties with one real aim: good times for good people. Its motto, ‘a safe little corner in a big, bad world’ was an apt one. Word spread, as is often the case, with friends telling friends who told their friends, until the last Saturday of the month became something of a social gathering for like-minded individuals. People who liked beats, breaks, techno, funk and electro. Above all, people who liked to party without prejudice. This was Future Funk. The night evolved, grew, and spread its wings - spawning separate club nights and moving to the higher capacity DQ to cater for demand. And then it was gone. Where? Who knows. Certainly not those whose sole purpose in life was living for that monthly party. And now it’s back. Four years since it was last at The Earl, Future Funk returns to its spiritual home on May 2 for a bank holiday all nighter of epic proportions. Same ethos, same names, same good times for good people. Why? Just because. Once again offering a safe little corner in a big, bad world. Future Funk @ The Earl, Queens Rd. Saturday May 2, 10pm – 4am. £4 b4 11pm, £5 after. Three rooms of dirty funk, acid breaks and jackin’ techno. 2 x 5k rigs, lights and visuals. Room 1: Acid breaks with K.A.S.R, Kickflip, Rol Smith, C4, Si Mclean and Jim Random Room 2: Jackin’ techno with Ron Atomizer, SelKirk, Fil Bray, Jon Tuxman and Twisted Generation Room 3: Dirty funk and Hip Hop with the Wall of Balls Allstars. Calahan
My first post in yonkeys dears. I'll be dancing like a gay bear on Hofmeister, darting from room to room like the Scarlet Pimpernel on a toilet mission. Or actions to that effect. Welcome back.
