silver pete
I have recently aquired a bottle from a car boot sale with the name J Uttley, sheffield. It is one of the pointed bottom type,(called a Hamilton I think), and has a registered trade mark of a lion and a shield bearing the letters J U, and the lion has a pointed bottle in one paw and is standing on a normal shaped bottle. Anyone Know anything about the company? I think they were based at 30 Earsham street(Google says). When did they close down? What was in the bottle?(holds about half a pint). I Think it is late victorian.Any info much appreciated.
