Sharp87
With the summer approaching and the sun daring to shine occasionally, can anyone reccomend some decent beer gardens in and around Sheffield? I'm aware of the fantastic Kelham Island Tavern beer garden so far, and also quite enjoy the outdoor area at the Benjamin Huntsman as its a perfect sun trap in the late afternoon. Kaizabella
The Washington, on Wellington Street is also awesome, and the Dove has a small suntrap of a beer garden, for the more metal / alternative minded out there
brianthedog
Apparently the University Arms has a cracking garden, but I'm yet to visit. I love the Fat Cat's beer garden, probably more than the Kelham Island Tavern's. Mmmm... Beer in the sun... I'm off!
junai
If it's simply beer gardens you're after then: 1. Nursery Tavern - Ecclesall Rd (two in fact - front and back - back is big with outdoor pool table) 2. The Vine - Cemetry Road (big terrace with amazing view of Sheffield) 3. The Lescar - Sharrowvale Road (big - undercover section aswell or at least it used to not sure now it's changed hands) 4. Bar One - Glossop Road (Sheffield Uni's bar - by far the biggest beer garden in Sheffield - you don't have to be student to get in during the day). junai
get some tins and sit in the park ! :-) That's my preferred method also. Cheaper, better view and you can have a game of ****** up footy!
Smack Jack
The Riverside is ok. Its not a cultivated delight like the Kelham or the Fat Cat but the river view is nice. Dam House has nice beer garden/views too. More a ponces haven than a boozer though
Sonjaar
The University Arms beer garden is fantastic, have to agree with the Washington too.
nosy nellie
I bet you will not find a more fantastic view in Sheffield like the view from the lovely beer garden outside The Rivelin. On a lovely sunny day the scenery is spectacular you are out in the country yet only a short trip from Hillsborough.
