Laidback Luke, despite originally coming from Holland, has quickly become one of the key figures in the Stockholm Stock Exchange of Filthy Grooves. Alongside messrs Angello, Ingrosso and Prydz, the nation has become known for it's bevy of intense main room anthems, with rippling jacksaw synths bursting from huge vocals and underground techno rhythms. First coming to international prominence with his immense remix of Jark Prongo's ‘Rocket Base' in 2000, which sampled Salt n Pepa's ‘Push it' and was caned by everyone from Thomas Bangalter to Pete Tong, Luke cemented his status in his native Holland alongside a plethora of international gigs. Whilst favouring a hard commercial edged techno sound throughout his earlier career, his remix of Angello's ‘Voices' in 2003 saw the pair first hook up, before sharing remixes and later studio time which led to an evolution in Luke's musical approach. This has led to Angello's big room sensibilities rubbing off on him creating a fusion of banging, epic house and techno which has won him the respect of thousands of clubbers worldwide. Support for Luke as ever comes from LJ Freeman and Geoff Ticehurst, with Andy Copeland and Tom Lee doing their thang alongside the Hallam Floorfillers. The Hallam bods bring an eclectic mix of upfront chart anthems alongside a sizzling ensemble of accessible dancefloor bombs from the past, raiding the crates of Hip-Hop, RnB, Dance and Indie in the process.
