At 67, the legendary DJ Derek is still rocking clubs all over the country with the finest selection of reggae, dub, funk and disco cuts. The man cited by Massive Attack as a key influence on their music is a TTC favourite – don’t miss.

 

Giving up his job as an accountant at Cadbury's chocolate factory over 25 years ago to DJ in pubs and clubs, Derek now holds residencies at a number of nights across the country including the Notting Hill Arts Club and the Womad and Big Chill festivals.

 

Over the years, Much of his vast record collection came from weekly shopping trips to a specialist importer of Jamaican music in London. Eventually the records outgrew his flat, so Derek spent about two and a half years recording 32,000 tracks onto hundreds of minidiscs.

 

When he's not laying down the biggest riddims ever, Derek is a real-ale drinking National Express enthusiast, who has visited over 600 of the 650 Wetherspoons sites in the UK – FACT! Don't miss your chance to witness the amazing DJ Derek!
