Lets hope it's more organised than the cup final.

I know some fans who travelled down to the FA cup final last week. On the way back they were due to change at Birmingham New Street and connect with a train there. Their train was delayed by a few minutes and some plonker decided to let the train that they were supposed to connect with at Birmingham go. They had to wait over 3 hours for the next train.

The excuse they were given is that the other trains was operated by another rail company and it would have costed something like £150 a minute to hold the train up.

Normal scheduled trains will leave on time regardless of connections. If the train were to wait it would inconvenience the passengers allready on who would then become late, and the train would get later and later as it would miss it's path, especially at junctions. The operator can also get fined for deliberately delaying trains.

However the football special is a direct non-stop train exclusively for Sheffield Wednesday fans going to Cardiff, so there is no connections to miss!

Well, they were told that the train could have been held up but it was not cost effective on that occasion due to it been another train company. The train company also refused to put taxis on so this meant that the football fans got home almost 4 hours later than they should have and at 3:45am.
