DETUNE's 6th Birthday with INLAND KNIGHTS -30/5/09- Rockshots, Chesterfield

Chesterfield’s original Underground House night DETUNE celebrates 6 years at the top this month with the very cream of the scene INLAND KNIGHTS visiting the Town for the first time in their much-lauded careers.

 

Since cutting their teeth DJ’ing with Smokescreen – the renegade soundsystem from which they drew their inspiration in the early 90’s - the Nottingham-based duo traversed the globe and made the inevitable step into production just a few years later, forming the Drop Music label, remixing the likes of Faithless (amongst others), and went on to become one of the most respected production outfits in the World!

 

Promoter Aaron Brown was very excited about the prospect of House Music’s finest hitting Chesterfield, and feels that The Knights epitomise everything Detune is about – “cutting-edge, stylish and a real deep, underground feel”. Adding even more weight to the bill are Liverpool’s Inbetween Djs – themselves on Detroit House label Wallshaker, and resident Robbo.

 

Central to the Detune ethos is pairing the UK’s most exciting cutting-edge producers with emerging DJ’s from the local scene – a music policy which which has enabled DETUNE to establish itself as a hidden gem amongst the usual Chesterfield backdrop of white stilletos and Cascada – a refreshing alternative, and a deciding factor in the night’s longevity.

 

Despite a few venue setbacks last year, Detune has gone from strength to strength and the event on Sat 30th May at new venue Rockshots, Marsden St, reaffirms their position as one of the Midlands’ finest and longest running Underground Clubnights, luring the likes of Eddie Leader (Hudd Traxx), Rhythm Plate (DIY), Mundyke & Marc Jay (Breakout Audio), Paul Hardy & Jacob (Baker St/20 20), Carlo Gambino (Purrfect, Leeds)& AL Bradley (Bugged Out)to Chesterfield - they’re even shooting a Promo Video on the night for a proposed tour of Indonesia later in the year showcasing some of Detune’s best, so you’ll have to be in there to be on it!

 

Tickets are expected to go like hotcakes and are available from Hudsons, Market Place, Chesterfield (01246)271177 at £7 plus £1 booking fee, or from the Detune Appreciation Society on Facebook, which now has over 500 members.
