SOCRATES JOHNSON - http://www.myspace.com/socratesjohnsonband 'Socrates Johnson are a dual - guitar acoustic blues rock act who turn many heads.' Sheffield four piece Socrates Johnson, an acoustic bluesy rock n' roll band, were formed in 2007, originally under the name Troubadour, by Andy Davison and Matt Flowers. Sarah Dakin on drums/percussion, and Paul Ward on bass joined in the summer of 2008 to complete the line up. In early 2008 recording of songs that would make the debut album, Providence and Fate, were completed. BRIGHT KICKS - http://www.myspace.com/brightkicks Manchester's answer to pop funk. Influenced by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Incubus, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and many more. These guys have been gigging recently under there may tour and will put the icing on the cake to finish it off with this date for 31st may!. THE LETTER - http://www.myspace.com/theletterband They seem to be on the buzz yet again with a lot of gigs and it is no surprise as they capture a buzzing unique sound of Pavement/Can/Wilco esque style into their band. Will be the first full band on stage for this event. IN FEAR OF OLIVE - http://www.myspace.com/infearofolive Acoustic band from Doncaster that will play some old classic blues songs as well as their own. By far the best band to open up the show with the singer's great voice for the band too! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before that though, here is what is also happening before the gig! Irish Folk band James Cannon (son of one of the Dubliners!) and the Sinners playing (onstage at 6pm, doors at 5pm)! http://www.myspace.com/jamescannonandthesinners James Cannon And The Sinners are currently recording their debut ALBUM as of now, the 8th of April 2008, it is expected to take a month and a half, so gigging has been cut to a minimum. In the past 6 months the band have played a sell out gig at the POLISH Club, Barnsley on Boxing Day 2007, surpassing previous attendance records. Check out one of their live performances!
