Grrr... yet again.... the steel didn't melt!

The 'heating enough to fail' theory, even if valid, would surely have needed much more time to work: bearing in mind that the 47 reinforcing box columns weighed as much as 2.5 tons per linear foot and were jacketed in asbestos. The fire would only have progressed downwards at the rate at which individual floors were destroyed.

If it were true, then it would have taken aprox 96 seconds not 9 ie.freefall speed :huh:
