jamesh2o
Does anyone have ANY information based on The Sheffield Dolpins - It was a Attercliffe based swimming team around the 1920's - Any photos or links would be most welcome. Thankyou Sincerely James Monroe
JackD
I remember Peter Price my old school teacher used to swim/play for them, as did a class mate called Brian Dean. That was in the early 50's.
Davekowl
I'm sure they had a water polo team. I remember my cousin Jack Butler swimming for them in the early 50s. They were pretty good and I remember them getting reports of their matches printed in the "Star". Perhaps that would be the best place to research. phantom309
I am sure they had a water polo team in the 50s as our woodwork teacher Jim Vickers was in it and they were reported on in the Star regularley.
sharrovian
I was introduced to the Dolphins back in the 1950s by one Sam Lauder who was a true friend and worked at the old Millhouses open air pool (The Big One). I unfortunately had to give it up as work called and I had to go to nightschool on the same evening, The Dolphins at that time was on a Wednesday evening at the King Edwards School swimming pool. hodkin
I think this was the club at those baths, but by the time i had joined them it was 1964 & i think they only were a club for people to swim together. My dad was a friend of the coach & i think coach also worked at davy united.
