hennypenny Posted July 16, 2009 Share Posted July 16, 2009 Bakewell is nice for a day trip, so is Cawthorn and Cannon Hall, Lotherton Hall near Leeds is good too. Cleethorpes is the nearest seaside, only 1 hr 15mins away by car, or with a train straight to the seafront (although I think that line is under repair over the summer and has been replaced by a bus). For longer days out, you can get to Retford, there is a nice Wildfowl and wildlife centre at Sutton cum Lound, Boston in Lincolnshire is good on a market day, Manchester is worth a look too. If you have a car, why not just drive an hour in a random direction and see where you end up?
