Andy C
Had a wander round Bradway last night. Had tea at the Castle Inn, nothing complicated, just a burger and chips. I was really impressed with the burger, seems to be much improved on the new menu. Top quality home made burger on a Ciabatta roll, fully loaded, really tasty. Real Ales were the usual choice of 3 - Bradfield Farmers Blonde, Oakwell Barnsley Bitter and Timothy Taylor Landlord. Then up to the Bradway, friendly pub and one real ale available - Wentworth Imperial Ale, and very nice it was too!
goldenfleece
Is that Old Mother redcap pub still going strong?
Andy C
Yes, the Redcap is still the Redcap, cheap booze and all Samuel Smiths own brand. Doesn't do food anymore, but has been refurbished fairly recently.
Andy C
Forgot to mention, the Castle is doing a two main meals for £10 promotion at the moment.
jemson
Getting to like the Castle - a friendly place and the beer`s not bad. Is the Bradway ok again now? Enjoyed my ale and food there in the past.

Jemson, the Bradders had a full re furb about 18 months ago and is a pretty plush now - it certainly offers something different to the other decent local pubs. The food at the Bradway is very good and beginning to get quite a following of regular diners - particulalry recommended is Friday Fish night or the themed nights (or any night for that matter). The food was recently reviewed by Martin Dawes the Sheffield Star food critic and achieved 17/20 Stars - as a regular reader of the Wednesday night review, a notable achievement!! Andy C
The Bradway is good again. A few recent hiccups with Enterprise Inns messing up the beer delivery but apart from that no problems. As AyupJimmy mentioned, its had a refurb and is now really smart and comfortable, the food is pretty much restaurant standard, and they usually have at least one real ale, which changes regularly. For the lager drinkers both Stella and Becks Vier appears a popular choice. The pub is run by Matt and Abi who are a nice and friendly young couple!
