vitas Posted July 21, 2009 Share Posted July 21, 2009 During a recent stag weekend 29 years on from my last visit. The resort of Benidorm is still up there with best for bars and nightlife. The summer memories of 75-80 are out of focus but the outline still remains. Great discos like Istanbul, Tramps and Evas. Bars buzzing with atmosphere like the seafront Western Saloon and the Talk of the Town along with the more sedate Big Ben Tavern in the old town. Also popular was the late night bar at the Hotel Presidente. Fond memories of nights round the Reymar and Riviera pools come to mind. Footballers stayed at the Don Pancho no Dubai for the Seventies lads. During certain weeks of the year it was like being down town on a saturday night with all the familiar faces. In fact along with the Steel Inn and New Inn lads I seem to remember barmaids from the Golden Ball working the summer there. Please add to these memories of our golden youth. Ille Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 For a group of us lads it was our first trip abroad. What a difference from Skeggy in a caravan and the Blue Anchor. No more chasing opening times 11-3 and 5.30-10.30. It was also the first time we had seen so many girls in their bikinis.
