What's happening with the Cross Scythes at Totley?

Recommended Posts

Oh, I didn't know that, I just heard that the owner of Champs had taken it over. Still can't see it making it though, The Crown and The Cricket Inn have got their food sorted, the Fleur de Lys and the Shepley Spitfire have both recently gone bust, and have both aimed at the budget end of the market.

There are two more eating houses at Owler Bar, and the Devonshire Arms in Dore has its food trade well established. Perhaps an innovation would be a traditional English pub, with a good atmosphere, good friendly service and a good selection of real ales, no it would never take on. :o

So because the locals of Totley didn't want budget pubs they won't want a gastro pub?

I went today and had a lovely roast dinner, with the most succulent roast beef, real yorkshire puds (not frozen pre-made) and lovely fresh veg. A definite winner if they keep that up. I didn't see the menu as it was a family party today, so I don't have any idea of the prices, but it does open tomorrow, Monday 9th November.

Errrr to whoever said the Dev at Dore has its food trade well established............

Is that meant to mean well established as farcical???

Anyway been in a few times now and evrybody seems to love it. Proper home made food at reasonable prices (£10.50 for a Sunday lunch that was much better than the Crickets at £17!!!).

Anyway, why the sniping, they've turned it from a God awful pub like the Fleur,Dev,Moorlands etc. and had a go at something good. Support anyone?

With that and the Crown I'm a happy man anyway.

prices are £50 a room and £6 per breakfast.

all the food is fresh and made onsite daily from local produce the waitress informed me of this which i thought was fantastic.
