You have to be joking?

Exactly what I thought.

Also:

Chips £2 - so it costs more for bread and butter than it does chips??

Wedge of Huntsman Pie £2 - as above

* Steaks and burgers come on their own. Optional extras available at £2 each: Tomatoes, Onion Rings, Double fried egg, roast potatoes, glazed stilton and bacon, chips, field mushrooms, mash, ceasar salad, house salad. - so are you honestly saying that I can go in and pay £28 for a steak, then I have to pay £2 for each extra item??!! And how can they charge the same for tomatoes and chips?

Movenpick ice cream £1.50 per scoop. - blimey

Isn't it a case of take it or leave it at those prices?

Places have a right to set prices how high or low they like (presumably based on their overheads etc - it must be more expensive to sell chips in a pub in a good location than out of a van on the Moor) and equally customers have a right to choose to go elsewhere if they like.

The free market then decides how things go for the business. If they are overpricing so that no-one wants to go there, then they don't get any custom. If they are pricing/marketing works so they get enough customers to make a profit, then it works for them.

But I don't think they are under any obligation to set prices low enough to appeal to everyone (even speaking as someone who is still in two minds over whether or not my bank balance can stand getting a meal there!).
