Presto Tools being demolished

Recommended Posts

I worked there in the maintenance department from 1980 - 1990. It was always referred to as a "bread-and-fat shop" and they never paid well but it provided a lot of jobs for local people - at least whilst the McGees were involved.

It's a shame to see it torn down but that's the way most of British industry has gone - thanks to bad governance and useless self-serving politicians.

Apparently they are not pulling it all down, just trying to downsize the building, so they dont have to pay too much tax on it, the warehouse is still going with people working there, OH had a walk around it the other day.
