I had a pack of them howling at me when putting washing out to dry in Africa. 2nd most scariest moment while out there I think. Really thought one was going to come charging out of the forest! For wilful cruelty, deviousness, stupidity, hypocrisy, arrogance, malice, narcissism and all-round selfish bastardness, nothing beats H.sapiens. Wasps are a close second though. Cut and pasted from a website:- Surplus killing is not a feature unique to foxes; wolves, leopards, caracals, coyotes, hyenas, bears, shrews, mink, polecats and weasels are among some of the many species known to surplus kill.
