HarleyLive
2 Poor 2 Pitch festival started in 2008 at Sheffield live music venue the Harley with the aim of being an affordable, accessible showcase for live music and a means of supporting the venue’s best-loved and best-regarded live promoters. It featured the involvement of Drowned in Sound and legendary Sheffield recording studio Club 60, and highlights included sets by Future of the Left, Dinosaur Pile-Up and Skeletons (amongst many others). Now in its second year, the boutique festival is expanding to incorporate brand-new venue the Wick at Both Ends. The Wick is situated a two-minute walk away from the Harley, right in the heart of Sheffield city centre and in the hub of its nightlife. With a budget ticket price (£7 for a weekend wristband, and £5 for day wristbands) and with the support of some of Sheffield’s best-regarded promoters and industry types, it promises to be a great event. 3 days of bands, DJs and barbecues to bring the summer to a spectacular close. This time, we’ve enlisted the help of even more of our favourite music nerds, so there’ll be lineups curated by the following: BBC Raw Talent Children for Breakfast Club 60 Thirsty Ear Whilst Other Girls Mixed In Sheffield …Plus a couple of others that we’ll keep you posted on. Headliners and full lineups will all be announced on here in the next couple of days, so keep ‘em peeled for updates. We can’t wait.

cfb99
Harley Nights 27 August at 18:34 Weekend tickets: http://www.seetickets.com/see/event.asp?e|artist=2%20poor%202%20pitch%2009&e|promoter=6933&filler1=see Facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=253494095081&ref=ts Whilst Other Girls (who are taking over the Friday 4th September @ The Wick at Both Ends) are delighted to announce that they've just confirmed Shmoo http://www.shmoo.co.uk The Newport brothers (David and Neil) have been busy working on various projects over the last few years exploring the realms of electronic music. During this time they built a studio in the attic of their flat in Manchester, surrounded themselves with old school synthesizers, samplers, drum kits and drum machines, and focused their efforts on writing and recording lots of music. Live the three piece are all wired together via an old sampler full of hard hitting beats and sampled synthesizers, everything you can want in a live electronic synthed-up indie/dance band! In a short space of time, they've secured some impressive gigs, their third seeing them share the main stage alongside Roisin Murphy, Roni Size Reprezent and Stereo MCs, and with recent gigs seeing them support Lady Hawke and Ratatat. Their synth heavy sound, fat bass lines, exploding beats, blips, and killer melodies the Shmoo sound belongs on the dance floor and indie clubs alike. AND Superstar DJ from London way Firas (Filthy Few) Man behind the cult Filthy Few podcasts, producer, promoter DJ. The Filthy Few podcast is currently featured on clashmusic.com check it out: http://www.clashmusic.com/feature/filthy-few-podcast They say "Now up to issue 22, the Filthy Few podcast has acted as a barometer of tastes and trends in the indie and dance scenes, helping propel the likes of Late Of The Pier to greater prominence. Produced in a secret London location, the podcast has long revered by indie hipsters" Look out for more updates. Running orders coming soon. LegalBlonde
I have recently moved here. How in general would you describe the type of music at your festival, I googled a few bands but no real joy. It sounds great but obviously not sure what kind of music it is. Thanks
