MoominTroll
I am having a chinese takeaway tonight but fancy something different. I always have the same - singapore chow mein - but would like to branch out and try something new. The only thing I don't really like that I have tried so far is water chestnuts. Thanks :)

Do they have different items on the menu depending on which area of Sheffield you live? I did not know that. I live in Chapeltown.

upinwath
Depending on the place, sweet and sour dishes can be very nice. You will find the sauce changes a lot in each take away. Same goes for chinese curries. Casually ask if the chef is from fujian province. If the answer is 'yes' go to another place. Hong kong and Malay chinese chefs are usually best. MoominTroll
Now in the end we did not have chinese but am looking forward to trying squid with ginger and lemon chicken in the future. Thanks. If you are interested, I had cathedral city cheese and shredded spring onions on toast with a side of thai chilli sauce. Gorgeous it was.
