abbi_3105
Hiya, I am wondering if anyone has any good ideas for place cards for a wedding. We are having a christmas wedding but do not want santa, snowman holders etc. At a friends recent wedding she had place cards that had the name meaning on aswell which I thought was nice. Anybody have any good ideas? Something a little unusual? Does not have to be christmas themed as I could just tier the colours in. Any favor ideas? Thanks, Abbi
quinnite
Etsy (it'll be the first link on google) is a great place to find ideas for unique wedding ideas - it's also pretty cheap. A lot of sellers are from the US, but postage has always been really reasonable whenever I've bought anything.
Bonny
Have you looked on the 'not on the high street' web site? They have all sorts of different ideas. You could get individual chocolate bars with guests names on? Or even have cup-cakes iced with guests names. These also double up as favours so not hammering the budget too much. I've seen some small photo frames and you could use those for name settings with each name inserted where the picture should be and then again they double up as favours too. Love2print
Perhaps you could get some bespoke ones made? I know you said to stay away from Santa, etc. But what about snowflakes? I have seen some nice wedding invites with snow flakes on. Maybe you can buy matching place cards. Maybe a Silver and Blue theme, snow, ice, icicles, etc. If your going for the Christmas colours you might want to got for maybe a Vintage or Victorian feel. Dark greens/reds seem to go well with vintage/Victorian style themes. Maybe miniature lanterns (perhaps like Victorian style Christmas tree lights) that will hold tea lights could be given as favours. Would also look great on the tables if they were lit, especially as it gets dark earlier in winter.

yan
What about a nice little envolope with the guests name on and inside you could pop in a lottery ticket or scratch card? Thats what I'm doing any how. x
Purrball
How about buying some baubles and then writing people's names on them? Would double as a place card and a nice keepsake favour!
Harrelle
Something called escort cards are very fashionable at the moment. This is where names are hung from a decorative stand - people find and collect their names and the card has their table number written on it. As a twist the stand could be some form of elegant christmas tree and the name places could be written either on really beautiful baubles, shimmering snowflakes or those little parcel xmas decorations which you could put an individually wrapped chocolate in. That was a bit tricky to try and explain - just an idea.
Strix
a friend sprayed pebbles gold and silver then we wrote names on in enamel paint as place cards - and everybody kept them at our wedding we bought black and white candles in glasses from Asda's Christmas range and wrote names on the florist narked me off, so instead of floral centre pieces for the tables, we had a large plate of thorntons continentals crowned with their easter bunnies (well it was easter) instead of individual favours
LNRV
We had gel candles for the woman and a small bottle of whisky for the men and tied the names on them with ribbon same colour as theme
