The tour coincides with the A-Z single Series which will see the band release 26 records released in a number of formats. A single will be released every fortnight beginning in September 2009 and ending in 2010. With 18 Top 40 hits, Ash are one of the most successful ‘singles bands’ of recent times. Following their latest album ‘Twilight Of The Innocents’ the band announced they would no longer release albums in a traditional way. Heralding a new approach to record releases, the ultimate singles band will now deliver the ultimate singles collection. The band has released 6 albums and a greatest hits collection since forming 17 years ago, including the album ‘1977’ which reached number 1 in the UK album charts. The Northern Irish group has released a number of chart hits including ‘Girl From Mars,’ ‘Oh yea,’ ‘Burn Baby Burn’ and ‘Shining Light.’ Live promoter Taras Binns said: “To have a band playing in Rotherham with such a high profile is very exciting for the town. It is certain to be a brilliant night for everyone lucky enough to get a ticket.
