The biggest music and beer festival in the North this summer will take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend in Barnsley’s Locke Park. A three day event that is open to all with something for everyone. Tickets are available for single days or for all three days at a discount.

Saturday Music 1.45 till 10.30 - Bar 12noon till 10.30

We start on Saturday 29th August with one of the best sax players around, Snake Davis, along with Jim Diamond and from then on it’s jazz pretty much all the way until close. Some smooth jazz from Twelve Bars from Mars, some classic jazz standards and we finish up with Bourbon y Tequila, Latin jazz – guaranteed to get anyone dancing.

Sunday Music 1.15 till 10.30 - Bar 12noon till 10.30

On Sunday 30th August it’s largely blues. We have invited some of the best blues bands and performers around Yorkshire. Look out for the posters.

Monday Music 12.30 till 6 - Bar 12noon till 6

While Monday 31st is family day with children’s rides, face painting, craft stalls and much more there is a programme of folk music all afternoon on stage in the beer tent which holds over 1000 people.

A variety of food is available throughout the day.

Advance tickets are £6.00 for Saturday (£7.50 on the gate) £5.00 (£6.00 on the gate) for Sunday and £5.00 (£6.00 on the gate) for the Bank Holiday family day. Or buy an advance ticket for all three days of the festival for just £14.00. Children under 12 accompanied by an adult get free entry all days for afternoon and early evening sessions. 13 - 17 year olds get half price entry to all sessions.

See the tickets page for more details on ticket outlets.

Barnsley's Locke Park is a beautiful open space located about a mile and a half from the town centre, and on a good bus route. Only 5 minutes’ journey by car from Jct 37 of the M1 and hotel accommodation is available near-by. A Link to LateRooms.com is here showing the best deals in a 12 mile radius of Barnsley.

CAMRA Real Ale & Cider Tent

The Festival will feature a wide range of beers of varying strengths and different styles. And, doing our bit for the environment, we hope to source these beers from no more than 20 miles from Locke Park in keeping with CAMRA’s LocAles initiative. Good Yorkshire ales in a beautiful setting.

There will be no better place in the North to sample local brews with your jazz and blues, from light pale ales through to rich dark stouts.

The beer menu on the beers’ page is subject to changes on a daily basis. Some beers will sell out faster than others and some non LocAle beers may substitute others. There will also be available a selection of wines and soft drinks. In keeping with CAMRA’s policy named drivers are provided with complimentary soft drinks.

And for all you cider drinkers out there, we have a massive collection of over 2 dozen for you to choose from at the event. These are real ciders, served cool and unlike mass advertising may have you think, need no ice. In fact, due to the large choice of cider, cider will soon have its own page on this website.
