abe79
Hopefully the title explains it enough. Which pubs do a really nice house wine that is reasonably priced? I am more a fan of red so best red appreciated.

Frank Sidney
If you're in the town centre, RSVP (I think it's called that, near City Hall) had a bottle of Echo Falls red for 4.95. Remember thinking when I got a glass that a bottle would have only been a quid more!
Claret
Soyo have an offer on at the mo - £7 for a bottle after work. £10 normally. Never tried it tho. Dogma used to have a great deal on £6 or something - and it was nice. But the bar has died.

Claret
oooo. Trippets is also good value. Very nice wine for, what i consider to be reasonable prices. Reds start at £11. http://www.west10winebar.com/T-Menu_files/WineList.pdf
abe79
Anything up to about thirteen quid suits me - I hate going out, fancying red wine and getting a drink which is then awful. I was in the pub near the student church/theatre and had a large glass for about £2.50 but it was horrible. Would far rather have spent £4.50 and enjoyed my drink and time in pub. Thats why I worry about £5/£6 bottles (but would happily have one if people say its good). May try Trippets next time I am out. Or a friend has suggested Milestone to me (but does not know what grape it is).
jamesogt
Thats why I worry about £5/£6 bottles (but would happily have one if people say its good) Remembering that standard mark up for a bar or restaurant is usually X3. So your £6 bottle in a bar/pub/restaurant probably cost them the best part of £2. Should anyone ever see the wine Valencia, it costs £1.90 a bottle from the wholesaler !
