Flourish
Oooh we had a cheesecake for our wedding. It was fab, It was not a traditional 3 teir cake, we had 7 different ones, all staggered. We got the cheese from silverhill dairy. It all got eaten as we put it out for the evening with loads of flavoured crackers, chutneys, cellery and grapes. john&marie
Flourish I think yours was different to the ones Dieselbabe means ie, stacked cheeses cake style, not cheesecake- sweet with fruit toppings.
Flourish
Think you need to re- read my post john&marie, I am not on about a sweet cheesecake, i am talking about my Cheese wedding cake. We had a stilton, heart shaped brie, apricot wensledale, black lable chedder, and a few others which i cant remeber.
weenireeni
Hi Flourish, that's the point john&marie is making - you're talking about cheddar cake (bad), but the original post is about strawberry cheesecake (good).
john&marie
Thanks weenireeni glad you understood me, personally i like the idea of cheeses stacked up, my friend was considering it for her wedding next year but decided on a chocolate fountain instead, all i can think about now is the sticky chocolate mess the kids will end up in and probably the adults too ...gimme the cheeses instead. Im rather partial to sweet cheesecake too so im not taking sides though.
dazzler4
have you though about setting them out as individual cheesecakes? like the muffins can be done? as for flavours, i would go with fresh fruit, strawberry and kiwi etc.
ptolomy
Flourish, at the risk of confuddling the thread even more...Do you remember how much your cheese cake was? We're looking for the same kind of thing for our wedding. Thanks
weenireeni
ptolomy - we went with savoury cheese cake in the end, from the cheese factory in chesterfield. you could easily just order from tesco etc, and decorate yourself
Worksop One
just returned from a trip to wensleydale (Hawes) where the creamery is. They will actually make you a wedding cake, 3,4 or 5 tiers out of actual cheese, they looked superb!!
