medusa Posted September 13, 2009 Share Posted September 13, 2009 There is no time limit on meeting your parteners family. Do it only when everyone feels comfortable with it. That helps remove any stress from the situation. I would imagine that after 6 years it's become a more stressful situation because of the huge length of time of it not happening. The OP doesn't include the information about what happens around her partner's family on a practical level- does he not see his family? Does he leave her at home and socialise with them alone? Mainly so they can put em off me I reckon, the biatches My family used to wish to meet my new girl friends as soon as they could. They did however get fed up with it after the first 40 or 50! About a month - but that was by accident and not design! My partner lived in London when we first met, and on a Christmas shopping/saying hi trip, I became stranded in London as weather took a turn for the worse and all trains north were cancelled - as we were young, he lived at home and so I stayed at his parents that night... I didn't see them again for about a year or so though, as we lived nowhere near one another - in 14 years I have seen them in the north twice! My my OH moved in with me has he was from Immingham befor i met them, and we got engaged befor i met them. Some may say strange to do that befor we met both sides but we wantd that i got their blessing. But i met his brother and sister befor his mum and step dad and we get on like best friends. Why i dint meet was due to family break down, but that dint put me off my OH, and his parents seen how happy he was and never seen that before in him with his other ex's, so i was excepted then in my eyes. But when i did meet them it was brill it was like we met ages ago has we use to chat on the phone before we met and also treat me and my daugter has one of them befor we met. To be honest this was the best meet i had with a partners parents then i had befor in other relationships when i met them within months of meeting my ex's family. I know it sounds stupid, but we both sorta knew we'd be together a long time, so, he let me meet them. And they are now (2 yrs 7 months on) my second family.
